A unique DMZ tour program, which travels around the DMZ (demilitarized zone) in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, will be introduced next month.
DMZ Peace Together (CEO Ahn Jae-young), founded in Paju in March 2024, announced on the 27th that it will operate the "DMZ Peace Tour WITH E-board" from next month with Beam Mobility, an electric kickboard sharing service company. The program is a new level of hands-on tourism product where a peace commentator rides an electric kickboard to tour the attractions of Paju DMZ, including the Odusan Observatory, the Cathedral of repentance and Atonement, and the Inter-Korean Forest Cooperation Center.
"DMZ Peace Together" is a peace movement group that brings together people who act with the aim of establishing permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula and contributing to world peace based on the DMZ and the border area, and has an office in Heyri, Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju City. The group plans to run a variety of tourism programs for domestic and foreigners to understand and experience the historical, cultural and natural values of the DMZ area, a symbol of conflict and confrontation and a treasure trove of ecological environment. To this end, a peace commentator curriculum was conducted last month, educating 26 peace commentators.
The "DMZ Peace Tour With E-board" program is literally a unique program that runs around the DMZ on a electric kickboard.
Ahn Jae-young, a North Korean researcher and CEO of DMZ Peace Together, who runs the "Territorial Cultural Center Dokdo," said, "After thinking about how more people can visit the DMZ area and experience the importance of DMZ history and peace amid the recent escalation of tensions in the DMZ, I thought we needed various types of tourism programs to experience every corner of the DMZ, not a one-size-fits-all tourism product."
